OCRG position regarding the publication in Nowiny Nyskie articles: “Factory for 660 million euros. Kolbirz hooks on success” and “Success has many fathers “.
Dear Sirs,
The investor service process is a multi-month, multi-stage and multi-player project. A positive decision means multimillion investments, hundreds of jobs and numerous benefits for the municipality, region and country. It is the success of all who are involved in this process. This was also the case with the Belgian Umicore company, which on June 1 this year informed that it had chosen the site in Nysa for the next plant.
With reference to articles “Factory for 660 million euros. Kolbirz hooks up to success” and “Success has many fathers”, which appeared in „Nowiny Nyskie”, Opolskie Centre for Economy Development (OCRG) informs that it has coordinated many elements of this project in the region. As part of the project, among others, meeting with Tauron Dystrybucja; Wałbrzych Special Economic Zone; Municipal Office in Opole and the Municipal Office in Nysa, that is, communes, on whose areas were plots interesting for Umicore. With the Nysa commune, which, while preparing the offer for a Belgian company, met the investor’s expectations and showed great commitment to this project, we cooperated intensively.
At the same time, we declare that the Opolskie Centre for Economy Development is not “connected” with any political party. It is a unit of self-government of the Opolskie Voivodeship acting for the benefit of entrepreneurs, responsible inter alia for distributing EU subsidies for companies or investor services, performing its tasks on behalf of the voivodeship self-government, regardless of current political conditions.
In view of the above, we appeal to not combine activities of the Opole Centre for Economy Development with political games or pre-election activities of various political circles. This does not serve the activity of our unit, directed at local entrepreneurs already operating in the region. Above all, it does not serve OCRG assisting external investors interested in the region. Opole. It should be remembered that as part of the decision to invest, they take into account not only the issues connected with properly prepared investment area, media or available human resources, but also good cooperation of many units, institutions and local governments in a given area and the general climate for the investor in the region.
Sincerely,
Roland Wrzeciono
Director of the Opolskie Centre for Economy Development
