The first investor plans to build a plant in the economic zone located in Opole-Wrzoski. The investor is the MM Systemy company producing parts for the automotive industry. The investor is planning to buy a 6 hectare plot, where a new production plant will be built within a few years. This is another investment of this company in the Opole region. MM Systemy has a similar plant in Kąty Opolskie (Tarnów Opolski commune). The plant is mainly involved in the production of components for BMW and Audi cars.
Due to the large automation of production, mainly mechanical engineers and mechatronics will be sought. There are still many challenges facing the city related to the preparation of plots for the condition enabling development of the abovementioned area. There is a need to complete works on the zoning plan, development of energy networks, water and sewage, roads, gas line or fiber optics.
MM Systemy is still at the stage of negotiations with the Management Board of Wałbrzych Special Economic Zone. At the current stage of the project, the size of investment and the employment were not determined.
