In 2020, Przedsiębiorstwo Gospodarki Komunalnej “EKOM” Sp. o.o in Nysa planned to launch a modern installation processing plastic waste. It will be the first and so far the only such line in the Opole region. The solution will significantly increase the level of recovery of recyclable materials (waste from foil or PVC).
100 percent of this waste will be recoverable. The waste will be used to produce a flake, then granules, i.e. an intermediate that will be used to produce plastic containers or home composters. The investment will cost PLN 3 million 700 thousand – 85% of this amount will be paid by the European Union. EKOM is also not worried about the raw material needed for production, because it will be entirely obtained from waste going to the landfill it manages. In addition, the company counts on the fact that, apart from having a good impact on the environment, the investment will also improve its financial condition.
