Austrotherm Sp. z o.o. he declared the construction of a production plant and employment of about 50 people. Beginning of May this year the company bought the plot in Grodków, with an area of about 2.5 ha, which for several years was covered by the Wałbrzyska Special Economic Zone.
The company Austrotherm was founded in 1993 and is part of the Austrian concern Schmid Industrieholding (SiH) founded by Robert Schmid in 1970 in Wopfing. He manufactures and sells thermal insulation materials from expanded polystyrene (EPS) and extruded polystyrene (XPS), which are widely used in residential and industrial construction. The production technology guarantees the accuracy and stability of dimensions, the equality of angles, excellent cohesion and uniformity of the material. All products are subject to factory production control in accordance with the European Conformity Assessment System. SiH managed by the Schmid family, in 2014 achieved a turnover of over EUR 1.34 billion, employing almost 4,700 employees. In Poland, the company has two plants, in Oświęcim and Skierniewice.
