“The land for medal 2018” for Strzelce Opolskie

Strzelce Opolskie have “The Land for medal”. 

The land for medal 2018 is the title won at the 8th National Competition “The Land for Medal” 2018 by less than 6 hectares of land at Dziewkowicka Street in Strzelce Opolskie received by representatives of this commune in Warsaw today. Thus, the area has been recognized as one of the 16 most attractive in whole Poland.

– We are very happy with this award – says the mayor of Strzelce Opolskie, Tadeusz Goc. – Previously, the area at Ciepłownicza Street, this time the prize was given to us for the plot at Dziewkowicka Street. It is a several hectare, perfectly located plot. Investors are already asking for it. We hope that the talks will soon bring first information about companies that decide to locate their capital here.

The Mayor stresses that an additional advantage of this land is the fact that it is located next to the tracks and the railway station, which will enable the a siding to operate. – We are happy that once again the municipality’s activities in order to create the best conditions for business were noted and the well-prepared areas were appreciated – he emphasizes.

„The Land for Medal” contest is organized every two years by the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH) in cooperation with the Marshal of the Opolskie Voivodeship and the Investor and Exporter Assistance Centre (COIE) operating within the self-governing province of the Opolskie Centre for Economy Development (OCRG). In the final of this year’s eighth edition of the contest, there were a total of eight areas from seven communes located in Opolskie region: Strzelce Opolskie, Nysa, Gogolin, Opole, Olesno, Krapkowice and Prudnik. The ground in Strzelce Opolskie was appreciated, among others for access to good quality public roads, good technical infrastructure (e.g. water, electricity, sewage, gas), railway siding and for good preparation of the municipality for receiving and servicing investors.

– Participation in this competition is a big promotion for all areas that are in the final list. Undoubtedly, the Polish Investment and Trade Agency is especially recommending these areas later in relations with potential investors – says the director of Opolskie Centre for Economy Development, Roland Wrzeciono, who together with the representatives of the Opole Investor and Exporter Assistance Centre took part in the award ceremony. – And the fact that the win in it accounts for effect is best demonstrated by the fact that sixty percent of the areas awarded in the previous eight editions of „The Land for Medal” contest already have owners.

– Previously, in our region the title of “The Land for Medal” also won, among others plots in Skarbimierz, Gogolin, Ujazd or Lewin Brzeski, where we already have investments – adds Piotr Regeńczuk, acting Deputy Head of COIE operating in OCRG.

It can not be overestimated, according to OCRG representatives, is also the cooperation developed through participation in the competition between local governments, investor service centers and PAIH.

Grounds for the “The Land for Medal” contest 2018 – both municipal and private – could have been submitted to Opole COIE operating at OCRG, district governors, presidents, mayors and commune heads. Reported plots had to be covered by the current zoning plan indicating production deignation. The area of ​​the site could not be less than 2 hectares.

The best declared areas will be given priority when PAIH and the Investor and Exporter Assistance Centre indicate the location to potential investors and will be promoted on the internationally. In addition, the winners of the competition can present „The Land for medal” logo on all promotional materials.
