Piaski Furniture Factory, which is part of the HK Furniture Group from Kępno in 2017 purchased 10 ha of real estate in Wołczyn. Currently, the procedure of retraining real estate from perpetual usufruct to ownership is coming to an end. The property was purchased from the insolvency administrator of the Linopłyt plant in Wołczyn. The plant was established on the basis of one of the largest retteries in Europe, founded in 1894 by Dawid Gruschwitz on the area of several dozen hectares. From the 1990s, the plant was in ruin and its property was devastated.
After the ongoing preparatory period, i.e. obtaining agreements, preparation of projects and decisions, the construction of production and storage facilities will commence. Construction time may be shorter than documentation procedures.
HK Furniture Group is one of the largest furniture companies in Poland. The Town Hall office supports the investor in the construction of the plant. In the first stage, production halls with an area of 11,000 m2 will be built. After the completion of the entire investment, 25,000 m2 of production buildings will be under the roof. The plant will employ up to 400 people. The estimated investment costs are around PLN 30-40 million.
