Umicore has entered into a loan agreement with the European Investment Bank (EBC). The loan amount is EUR 125 million. In this amount, part of Umicore’s investment in the cathode materials plant in Nysa will be financed. When completed, this green factory will power European plants for global customers of batteries and electric cars.
The transition to electromobility is a priority for the European Union, which aims to drastically reduce CO2 emissions. Thanks to the integrated European supply chain of battery materials, Umicore, and thus the plot in Nysa, will contribute to the implementation of the European Union plans. It is also one of the strategic investments in the Opolskie Voivodeship and Poland.
