The new production line of Good Mills company worth PLN 50 million was chosen as the Investment of the Year 2017, and Lesław Adamczyk, Bogusław Dawiec, Zygmunt Szulc and Rajmund Adamietz received the titles of Work Leaders 2017.
The award for particularly active people – not only in business – was named that way because this year’s OCRG Summary Summit Gala was organized as “III Opole Plenary of Work Leaders – In the Fumes of the absurd, 300 percent of total norm ” Original, referring to the reality presented in the films directed by Bareja. Opolskie Centre for Economy Development (OCRG) subjected to the self-government of the voivodeship, summed up the year by announcing what has been done in the previous 12 months for entrepreneurs from the region and what are the plans for next year. – We have announced five new calls for companies this year, and we have completed the six announced earlier. In these six calls the Board of the Voivodeship divided among entrepreneurs over PLN 122 million of EU funds this year. Almost PLN 50 million were actually transferred this year to the accounts of companies that have already completed their projects – the director of OCRG, Roland Wrzeciono, enumerated.
He also added that in 2017, six more companies decided to invest in the Opole region. – These companies have declared the creation of over 400 new jobs.
In 2017, 10 years have passed since the OCRG was established. The board member of the Opolskie Voivodeship, Szymon Oglaza, said that during this decade, the Investor and Exporter Assistance Centre operating at OCRG won a total of 65 new investors for the region, and they declared the creation of 9 000 new jobs. – During these 10 years, PLN 1,1 billion has been paid for co-financing for companies from our region – added Szymon Ogłaza. He also stressed that: – We could not boast about all these achievements if it were not for entrepreneurs. If not for the fact that they want to implement EU projects, they use their money as a contribution and take the trouble to acquire EU support. For this they owe a lot of thanks.
Four companies were nominated for the award in the Investment of the Year 2017 category: IAC, Hengst, UFI Filters and GoodMills. The last one mentioned was chosen by the participants of the gala by voting during the event. The commemorative medal received the managing director of GoodMills, Adam Tyszka. At the end of October 2017, the company opened a new production line worth PLN 50 million. Thanks to this investment, the Stradunia plant has become one of the largest in Poland. Annually, 216 000 tons of wheat will be processed in it. The international GoodMills Group, with an annual turnover of nearly one billion euros, is at the forefront of the world’s largest flour producers. In Europe, it is the undisputed leader in this field. It has 25 mills in 7 countries. Their total annual milling is 3 million tons.
During this year’s gala, awards for particularly active entrepreneurs were also given. Lesław Adamczyk, former long-time CEO and vice president of ATMOTERM SA, now the head of Investment Boutique LEDA was awarded for social involvement, i.a. moderation of the International Academy of Management organized by OCRG and participation in the Mentoring Program of the Opolskie Voivodeship. Bogusław Dawiec, director of the Polaris factory – for his involvement in supporting vocational education and opening up to local cooperation. Zygmunt Szulc, co-owner of the Explomet company, for the implementation and dissemination of the idea of practical studies and involvement in student education and Adamietz company and its heads – Rajmund Adamietz and Szczepan Kusibab – for the extremely dynamic development of the company, which is present on almost every ongoing investment in the region.
The partners of the gala were: Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego branch in Opole; Opole Lodge BCC; Silesia Chamber of Commerce and the Opole Chamber of Commerce. And the climate of years rightly passed has been underlined by the gadgets from the age such as: crystals or mustard glasses; games (pick-up sticks, checkers) and by the cars from the period provided by the Opole Movement of Historic Vehicles and Mr Sławomir Janecki.
